Welcome to TISSU Sewing Studio, Fashion Arts education in the heART of Kansas. EST. 2014
Nestled inside downtown Wichita - inside the historic Orpheum Theatre - sits a charming slow fashion studio bringing back, with style, time-honored fashion crafts with a modern twist. Blink twice & you'll miss this local gem & eclectic nook of creativity. Meaning “fabric” in French, TISSU (pronounced Tís Sue) isn't your ordinary sewing school. We pride ourselves in honoring culture & tradition, yet pushing the limits in contemporary fashion design. We encourage our students to embrace conscious fashion & their curiosity, standing out from the crowd instead of blending in. We inspire them to imagine & create (with limited technology) utilizing only their minds, hearts & hands. We believe in handcrafting a more sustainable world where people, planet & peace are at the forefront.
Our goal is to introduce the art of sewing & fashion design to a new generation, empowering youth, teens & the young-at-heart through handcrafted traditions & creative self-expression. Our mindfulness approach embraces Slow Fashion & a unique focus on creative self-care & self-empowerment.

POP UP SHOP - We’ll “pop up” around the city & come to you! Handmade & vintage markets, mobile workshops, schools, community events & more
STITCH+SHOP: A Fiber Arts Event benefiting local animal rescues since 2017. Our semi-annual event with Genny of SWISS POINTE DESIGNS showcasing local knitters, spinners, weavers, seamstresses, craft suppliers & more. Come stitch, shop & donate/adopt our furry friends!
