PRIVATE GROUP INSTRUCTION (2 to 6 people you know, all ages, one project)

Learn how to sew with people you know. Friends, family, adult plus child, co-workers, team-building, all ages can attend your Private Group Instruction. Book a date/time that works for your group. We recommend one project due to the varying skills level of each participant. There will be numerous ways to customize each project. 4-WK SEWING & FASHION DESIGN (Adults)

4 APPOINTMENTS TOTAL (2 hrs per appt, 1 student)
CUSTOMIZE LESSON PLAN
Meets once a week for 2 hours or appointments can be spread it out (flexible scheduling). Learn at your own pace with a custom lesson plan each week catered to your sewing & fashion design goals. 4-WK sessions are perfect for students who desire one-on-one attention, flexibility in days/times & a thorough knowledge of both the design process & sewing construction. 4 WK sessions can also be condensed into a 2 WK session (meets twice a week for 2 weeks total) for more flexibility. Repeat/enroll in another 4WK session as your projects & goals change.

SEWING FOUNDATION

Technical sewing instruction. All topics/classes at TISSU can be repeated with different projects. All supplies included & no experience necessary. You are welcome to bring in your own machine, supplies or custom textiles to any private appointment. Practice textiles also available (included in fee).

SEWING 101 (TOPS) $60

For all levels. Welcome to the world of SEWING! We'll show you everything you need to know to get started: machine threading, seams, textile properties, an overview of patterns & much more. This is also the perfect class to touch up on sewing skills if you haven't sewn for a while. Our main focus is for you to relax, have fun & learn how to use sewing as a lifelong meditative & tool. SEWING 102 (BOTTOMS) $65

UPCYCLING 101 $60

BRING YOUR OWN GARMENTS TO UPCYCLE
ALL TOPICS CAN BE REPEATED

For all levels, no prerequisite required. Learn how to sew & dive into the sewing world learning skirts, pants, shorts, etc. Learn beginner techniques & machine functions. Or, challenge yourself with intermediate techniques. We will go over deconstruction, sustainable textiles, pattern techniques & sew much more. All supplies included & no experience necessary. PATTERNMAKING

Learn how to sew by incorporating a variety of patternmaking techniques into your designs, also the building blocks of garment construction. Similar to SEWING 101 & 102 topics, we will review sewing machine basics as necessary. All topics/classes at TISSU can be repeated with different projects. All supplies included & no experience necessary. Suitable for all levels. You are welcome to bring in your own machine, supplies or custom textiles to any private appointment. Practice textiles also available (included in fee).

COMMERCIAL & RUB-OFF PATTERNS $75

2 1/2 HR. PRIVATE SESSION (1 session)
COMMERCIAL PATTERNS - Learn how to utilize store patterns & sew garments with this tried & true garment construction technique. Suitable for all levels. We will show you how to dissect tissue patterns & begin/continue your sewing journey. Commercial patterns are technical & easy to understand (we promise!) once you understand all markings & sewing vocabulary. SEWING 101 included. Supplies list/syllabus emailed after registration.
RUF-OFF PATTERNS - Learn how to draft your own patterns in this fun & beginner-friendly session. Bring a garment from your closet or choose one at the studio & we’ll show you how to “rub it off” to create multiple looks from one simple master pattern. SEWING 101 included. Supplies list/syllabus emailed after registration.

DRAPING & MOULAGE $75

2 1/2 HR. PRIVATE SESSION (1 session)
Learn how to draft your own patterns directly on a dress form or yourself. We will also design a garment directly on a form. Dress form not required at home BUT it will make your sewing journey more enjoyable as far as fitting. Be on the lookout for dress forms on FB Marketplace, garage sales, estate sales & more before purchasing online. We will also draft patterns from a sketch. SEWING 101 included .

FASHION DESIGN

FASHION DESIGN $95

Fashion Design can be repeated with different projects/collections

Are you an aspiring Fashion Designer? Interested in the design process for more freedom & creativity in your own projects? This is the perfect topic to introduce students to the endless possibilities available to them. Designing a collection or clothing line, fashion illustrating, small business management & a mini-business plan will be covered. We’ll share everything we learned from our fashion school days in San Francisco! SEWING 101 will be reviewed but not covered extensively.
